How to Play

The Goal

Win 3 mini-boards in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) on the mega-board to win the game!

The Twist

Where you place your stone determines which mini-board your opponent must play in next!

Black plays in the top-right cell → White must play in the top-right board

Free Move

If you're sent to a board that's already won or full, you can play on any available board.

Winning a Mini-Board

Get 3 stones in a row within a mini-board to claim it. The board shows your stone color when won.

Black has won the center board with 3 in a row diagonally!

3×3 Board Structure

The game has 9 mini-boards, each containing 9 cells (81 total positions).

Each small board is a complete tic-tac-toe game. Win 3 small boards in a row to win!

Cell-to-Board Mapping

The position within a mini-board maps directly to which board your opponent plays next:

Top-left cell → Top-left board
Center cell → Center board
Bottom-right cell → Bottom-right board

Winning Example

Black wins by claiming 3 boards in a diagonal line!

4×4 Board Structure

The larger variant has 16 mini-boards, each with 16 cells (256 total positions)!

More boards means more strategic depth and longer games!

Still 3-in-a-Row!

Even on the 4×4 board, you only need 3 in a row to win a mini-board or the game. This means there are multiple ways to win!

Black wins with 3 boards in a row. Notice there are more possible winning lines on a 4×4 grid!

Strategy Tip

The 4×4 board is more forgiving—you have more options to recover from mistakes. Control the center 4 boards for the most flexibility!
